Fmoc-Ala-OH (CAS 35661-39-3), also known as N-Fmoc-L-alanine or (S)-2-((((9H-fluoren-9-yl)methoxy)carbonyl)amino)propanoic acid, is the standard Fmoc-protected L-alanine. It is the simplest Fmoc amino acid building block for solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS). Fmoc-Ala-OH is one of the easiest SPPS building blocks because alanine's methyl side chain doesn't need any extra protection. It is widely employed in the synthesis of GLP-1 receptor agonists (such as Liraglutide and Semaglutide, which incorporate Ala in their sequence), GnRH analogues, antimicrobial peptides, and various therapeutic peptides.
