Boc-His(Trt)-OH (CAS 32926-43-5), also known as N-Boc-N(im)-trityl-L-histidine, is a doubly protected L-histidine derivative for Boc-SPPS, of the Boc-imidazole-trityl-histidine chemical class. In Boc solid-phase peptide synthesis, histidine needs two layers of protection: Boc on the α-amino group and trityl (Trt) on the imidazole N(τ)-position. This stops alkylation and other unwanted reactions from happening while the peptide chain is getting longer.
