2-(3-(Diisopropylamino)-1-phenylpropyl)-4-(hydroxymethyl)phenol (CAS 200801-70-3) is a beta-amino-alkyl phenol of the diisopropylamino-phenylpropyl-hydroxymethylphenol chemical class. This compound is the direct racemic precursor to Fesoterodine. It is the benzylic alcohol scaffold that, after resolution and ester formation, makes the chiral Fesoterodine Fumarate API. The (R)-enantiomer (CAS 207679-81-0) is the isomer that is needed for Fesoterodine to work as a drug. The benzylic alcohol is chemically sensitive to oxidation and ester hydrolysis, so it needs to be stored in a controlled way.
